OMEGA Seamaster 300 3rd ref. 165.024
Up for sale is a rare OMEGA Seamaster 300 3rd initial model, ref 165.024, with its original caterpillar bracelet.
Among Omega's diver models, the "Seamaster 300 / 3rd model" is particularly popular.
This is the Seamaster 300 Ref. ST165.024, released in 1962.
The 3rd model adopted an asymmetrical case with a unique "ancient Greek lyre" crown guard, which improved its practicality.
The early models did not feature a screw-down crown, had baton hands, and a smaller trapezoidal design at 12 o'clock on the dial.
The early models are particularly rare.
The dial shows some discoloration but is in good condition, with a tasteful, aged matte black finish.
The case has some minor signs of use such as scratches, but no dents, and the edges are well-preserved, making its condition good.
The bezel has no cracks, and the markings are clearly visible. Its operation is smooth and crisp.
The case back also has some scratches but the engravings remain, maintaining good condition.
There are tool marks on the case back, but they have been left as is to preserve the engravings.
The watch is fitted with a rare, period-correct Omega original caterpillar bracelet. (The extension works, but some links are stiff due to age.)
The bracelet has scratches and dents in places, but there is minimal stretch.
Regarding the condition, the dial, hands, and glass show no noticeable scratches or scuffs.
The bezel, case, and bracelet have minor scratches that have been removed by light polishing.
Despite being lightly polished, the roundness of the edges appears to be minimal.
It is believed to be in good overall condition, maintaining its original state from that era.
