The Tank series is an indispensable part of any discussion about Cartier.
This is a hand-wound Tank Obus model reissued in the 1990s. It predates the CPCP Tank Obus.
Like the CPCP models, it features an exhibition case back, allowing a view of the beautiful 430MC movement, and a distinctive, exquisite guilloché dial.
It is almost identical to the CPCP, with the only difference likely being the presence or absence of "Cartier Paris" on the dial.
This is a highly rare item.
Regarding its condition, the case has minor scratches and dings, but no major dents.
There are minor scratches on the sides and bezel, etc., but to maintain its original condition, it has largely been left unpolished, with these minor scratches remaining as they are.
The dial is very clean with almost no dirt. There are no cracks.
The glass was replaced at an authorized Cartier store in September 2024. It is extremely clean.
The case back also has minor scratches but is clean. The serial number is clearly visible.
The buckle is an authentic Cartier 18k buckle.
The strap is aftermarket and new.
