Introducing the Credor Locomotive, a model created by SEIKO at the request of the renowned designer Gérald Genta.
This model also appears in Gérald Genta’s handwritten sketches and is regarded as one of his greatest masterpieces, alongside the Royal Oak and Nautilus.
The Locomotive’s design is inspired by a steam locomotive, and approximately 5,000 pieces are said to have been produced.
The case and dial designs are beautiful, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that it is not only the equal of the Royal Oak and Nautilus, but even surpasses them in rarity.
The differences from the current Credor, reissued as a limited edition of 300 pieces, include the movement—quartz versus Automatic—the material—stainless steel versus titanium—and the dial pattern.
Personally, I find this earlier type has a satisfying weight, while the dial pattern has a strong presence with its thicker, more clearly defined radial lines. I believe it holds its own against the current model in every respect. (The comparison image is the seventh photo.)
Examples in good condition rarely come onto the market, making this a model that continues to appreciate in value.
PRODUCT DETAILS
Condition and Warranty
The case and bracelet have some minor scratches, but there are no major dents or damage.
The dial, hands, and crystal have very few scratches or marks and appear to be in exceptionally good condition considering their Era.
The bezel has minor scratches, but it has not been polished in order to preserve its original condition. (They would likely come out with a light polish.)
The protective film from the time remains on the caseback, so we have left it in place.
Overall, the watch is in excellent condition.
