A repeater is an extremely complicated mechanism originally developed so that aristocrats could tell the time in the darkness of the night. As a rule, only expensive examples exist.
With a watch equipped with the most prestigious Minute Repeater, it is entirely normal for the price to exceed ¥10 million.

This Quarter Repeater is the most affordable type among repeaters, yet the bridges and gears have beautifully polished surfaces. Its double-hammer mechanism, solid 14K hunter case, and solid-gold inner cover protecting the movement indicate that it is a high-end timepiece.

The brand is WAKO, a group company that sold imported watches from Hattori Seiko, the predecessor of the SEIKO known to everyone.
WAKO commissioned this special model from INVICTA, LTD of Switzerland.
INVICTA appears to have been a brand that produced repeaters and highly complicated watches equipped with both a repeater and a chronograph; research turns up only high-end pieces.
The brand no longer exists, but it seems to have possessed considerable technical expertise.
Although the original price is unknown, it was presumably extremely expensive.

Wristwatch repeaters are now often prohibitively expensive as highly complicated mechanisms, but pocket watches can still be found at relatively accessible prices, making this one suitable for a collection or simply for enjoyment.
However, very few examples remain that function properly with good accuracy and have well-preserved exteriors, so the appearance of this watch itself is quite rare.
