Cartier Must de Cartier Tank Manual WindModel Ref. 4

The Must de Cartier Tank, the version of the historically popular Tank Louis made available to a wider audience. This is a rare early Must de Cartier Tank, often referred to as a Pre-Must Tank, and specifically a European-market Pre-Must Tank produced in even smaller numbers. The early cannonball crown gives it an especially appealing character. The European version is constructed much like the Tank Louis. The main differences are that the case is vermeil rather than 18-karat gold, and the dial uses script lettering rather than block lettering. As a result, it does not immediately appear to be a Louis, which contributes to its popularity, but it is an exceptionally rare piece.
