Cartier Stepped Tank Boys Size Ref. 25716 NYCModel
A rare Step Tank known only to vintage Cartier enthusiasts.
This is Ref. 25716, a model sold in New York. It is an especially rare example, with one of the lowest production numbers. The 27.5 cm face size makes this a well-proportioned boys’ size. The Step Tank was produced in limited numbers around 1970—approximately between 1973 and 1976—in New York, Paris, and London.
There are subtle design differences between each region. The NYC model differs considerably in details such as the caseback shape, the presence or absence of screws, and the shape of the inside of the case, making it the most finely constructed version.
Production was extremely limited, with reportedly around 2,000 examples made.
The dial is also the highly sought-after White Dial, making this an especially rare example. Well-preserved pieces have become difficult to find in recent years.
With its square shape and well-balanced proportions, this model should be comfortable and easy to wear.
NYC models have risen sharply in value in recent years. In particular, the White Dial and excellent condition make this an exceptionally rare piece.
It is fitted with an original Cartier period gold-plated Buckle.

Condition and Warranty
The overall condition is considered excellent.
The case has only minor scratches, with no dents or similar damage. Although some areas have become slightly thin, the original plating remains intact and in good condition.
The caseback has some minor scratches but is relatively clean. The Serial Number and other markings remain clearly visible.
As much of the original plating remains and the condition is excellent, the watch is unpolished.
The dial is exceptionally clean, with no visible dirt or cracks to the naked eye.
The original crystal has some minor scratches and signs of use, so it has been left in its original condition.
Overall, the watch is considered to be in beautiful condition.
This purple-dial version is scarce even among the popular Must de Cartier Tank models. Although its color looks glamorous and distinctive, its soft blue-purple tone is gentle against the skin and easy to wear.

It is easy to incorporate into everyday wear, with a beauty unlike other watches. It also seems particularly well suited to kimono.
