The Must de Cartier Tank was released for a wider audience based on the historically enduringly popular “Tank Louis.”
Rare early Must de Cartier Tanks are called pre-Must Tanks; this example is an even rarer European-market pre-Must Tank produced in very limited numbers.
Its early cannonball crown gives it outstanding character.
European-specification models are fundamentally very similar in construction to the Tank Louis. The major differences are that the case is vermeil rather than 18-karat gold, and the lettering on the Dial is script rather than block lettering.
As a result, it does not immediately reveal itself as a Louis, which contributes to its popularity; however, these watches are extremely rare.
With Tank Louis prices rising, this is a highly recommended example.

Condition and Warranty
The case has few dents or scratches, and the plating remains well preserved.
Because we wanted to retain the original period plating, the case has received almost no polishing. It does have some scratches, but remains in good condition.
The caseback has minor scratches and a very slight dent, but the plating remains well preserved and the overall condition is good.
The Dial, hands, and crystal are all clean, and for a pre-Must Tank, this example is in exceptionally good condition.
In particular, the Dial has very little staining and, unusually, no cracks, scratches, or discoloration; it is exceptionally clean.
It is fitted with the original period gold-plated Buckle.
Overhauled and Serviced.
The wrist shot is for illustrative purposes, as it shows a model previously sold.
