The quintessential Tank Louis Cartier from the Tank series. This LM model was made around the 1970s and is equipped with the Frederic Piguet ultra-thin Cal. 21 movement. This is a rare later production model featuring a Guilloché Dial. Guilloché dials were available only on the later type. The 2000s CPCP Tank Louis Cartier was based on this model, with nearly identical dimensions and construction. The differences are that, although both use the Cal. 21, this movement has no decoration, while the Guilloché on this dial is more deeply engraved and more pronounced. Compared with the CPCP model, the deeper and more beautiful Guilloché pattern, with its radial effect visible in the reflected light, makes this a model that could be considered the ultimate expression of the Tank Louis.
