Among vintage Cartiers, the Stepped Tank is a rare model known only to a select few.
This is a Ref. 25716, a model sold in New York, and it is the rarest and most unique with the fewest units manufactured.
This is a boys' size watch with a perfect face size of 27.5 cm.
The Stepped Tank was a model produced in small numbers in three countries – New York, Paris, and London – around 1970 (approximately between 1973 and 1976).
There were slight design differences depending on the region,
and the NYC model had quite a few differences, such as the shape of the case back, the presence or absence of screws, and the shape of the inside of the case, making it the most elaborately crafted model.
It is said that an extremely small number of these were manufactured, only about 2,000 units.
The dial is also the most popular white, making it a very rare piece, and it is rare to see good condition examples in recent years.
This square-shaped model has a moderate size and is thought to be easy to wear.
NYC models have seen a significant price increase in recent years. In particular, this white dial and its excellent condition are considered to be a very rare item.
