Rolex Ref. 1038 Oyster Perpetual

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual is the type commonly known as the Zephyr; this particular watch is Ref.1038. The defining feature of this watch is the distinctive dial and bezel design known as the Zephyr. Made for the American market, it has a simple, modern design unlike those seen today and remains a consistently popular model. As this Ref.1038 dates from around 1970, a rivet bracelet or stretch bracelet would normally be period-correct. However, this example is fitted with a bracelet manufactured in 1996. Although it is not period-correct, this bracelet offers better usability and durability, and its cleaner design may actually suit the watch better. It would also look excellent with a Leather Strap, making this a highly recommended watch.
