The Tank Louis Cartier is the quintessential model in the Tank collection.
This LM model, produced around the 1970s, is powered by a Frederic Piguet ultra-thin Caliber 96 movement.
This is an exceptionally rare early-production Ref. 96019.
Most examples of this Reference use screws on the sides and caseback, but the earliest versions appear to have been made without any screws at all, making them extremely rare. (This feature seems to be found in the first few hundred examples.)
With its period PARIS Dial, Manual-Winding movement, and solid-gold construction, this model can be considered the ultimate expression of the Tank Louis.
The Tank Louis Extra-Flat is rare in itself, while early-production examples are exceptionally scarce.
Because the case is secured without screws, it has a precision construction with no unnecessary gaps and an extremely simple design. It is a remarkable example of the level of craftsmanship achieved at the time, unimaginable today.
The Buckle is a Cartier-original 18k yellow-gold model.

Condition and Warranty
This is an exceptionally rare example with its period PARIS Dial free of cracks.
The PARIS Dial has no cracks, and the gold color of the hands appears to be original rather than the result of discoloration.
The case is in good overall condition, with few significant dents or scratches.
There is no sign of case thinning or softened contours. As the original condition was already very good, it has been finished with a light polish.
The Cartier engraving on the caseback has become slightly faint, but the Serial Number and other details remain clearly visible, and the overall condition is good.
The period PARIS Dial is in exceptionally good condition, with no cracks.
It has developed a slight ivory tone with age, but the color change is not pronounced and it remains in good condition.
The crystal is free of scratches.
There is no rust on the hands or elsewhere. (As they retain a beautiful gold color, they are believed to have been gold originally rather than discolored.)
Overall, this example appears to be in excellent condition.
