The King Midas Ref. 4017 is the only model that the famous Gérald Genta ever designed for ROLEX.
It is a special model born in the 1970s, also known as a "lefty" due to its crown being on the left side.
Its name comes from King Midas, the king in Greek mythology who turned everything he touched into gold, and it boasts a unique atmosphere and unparalleled design.
Elvis Presley famously owned one in the past, and more recently, it has garnered attention after being worn by Rihanna and The Weeknd. It is a timepiece that always sparks conversation.

This particular model features a glossy, mirrored dial whose appearance changes depending on the angle. The color could be described as reddish-brown.
The movement is a highly reliable Rolex manual-winding Cal. 1600.

Regarding its condition, the case has minor scratches, but overall, there are few major dents or scratches, making it in good condition.
The crystal is also in clean condition with no noticeable scratches.
The dial is mostly free of major scratches or stains.
There is some discoloration, resembling a pattern, that appears on this red mirror dial at certain angles and lighting conditions.
This is also observed on other examples, so please consider it an inherent characteristic of Rolex red mirror dials.

The watch comes with a rare original band from that period.
Additionally, a new custom-made band (Russian calf) will also be included.
