Introducing Ref. 17010, the Gondolo Large Automatic model with a PARIS Dial.
This is a rare Automatic model from the Tank Louis Cartier collection introduced in the 1970s.
It is particularly rare as it has received Cartier’s complete service and is fitted with a new PARIS Dial.
A distinctive feature of this Automatic model is its thick case, with a domed caseback to accommodate the thicker movement with its rotor. Unlike the Louis Jumbo, it has the same dimensions as the Large Manual-Winding Gondolo apart from the case thickness, but the added thickness gives it a more substantial presence.

Condition and Warranty
The case is in very good overall condition, with few major dents or scratches.
It shows no signs of excessive thinning or softened edges.
The caseback retains its Serial Number and is exceptionally clean.
The crystal, Dial, and hands are all free of scratches.
The complete service performed by Cartier included replacement of the crystal, Dial, and hands, as well as work on the movement.
The Dial has been officially replaced and is bright white with no cracks.
PARIS Dials are generally found on watches as originally produced, but this one was changed to a PARIS Dial during official servicing.
In recent years, officially serviced Dials tend to be whiter and have a stronger, porcelain-like luster than Dials from around 1970–1980. They also offer excellent legibility and durability.
Normally, even on a PARIS Dial model, an official Cartier complete service changes the Dial designation to “swiss made,” but this rare example was fitted with a PARIS Dial during service.
The criteria and conditions for receiving a PARIS Dial are unknown, but this is unquestionably an authentic example. Watches like this are said to appear only exceptionally rarely.
The Buckle is a genuine Cartier 18K piece, and the Strap is also a new genuine Cartier Strap.
The Gondolo Large Automatic is itself exceptionally rare, and it is even more unusual to find one in this condition.
