Introducing the Audemars Piguet special model ref. 4289 "Philosophie," from one of the world's top three brands.

This is a distinctive one-hand model within the Audemars Piguet collection, featuring a single hand. Furthermore, the case rotates when the bezel is turned, providing a GMT function. Usually, the bezel rotates, but here, only the case moves, which is a unique characteristic.

In 1982, Audemars Piguet boldly launched this model in response to quartz watches, reviving the single-hand hour display, an early time-telling mechanism used until the early 18th century. This was an ambitious work that challenged people's perceptions of the passage of time. A re-edition of the Philosophie was also created in 2019 within AP's Millenary collection.

The case moves by operating the sapphire at the 12 o'clock position. The operation feels firm and smooth. This tactile sensation is achieved with bearings, a solid gold case, and resin, giving the impression of meticulous craftsmanship in this area. It allows for time zone adjustments when traveling. While it's uncertain how often one might use this feature, it's a mechanism that makes you want to operate it again and again.

Both the strap and buckle are original and included.

Although the size is a compact 31mm, it possesses a refined quality that is never too small. It is equipped with the Cal. 2003, a movement that serves as the basis for thin movements.

In terms of condition, there are no noticeable scratches, dirt, or scuffs on the dial, hands, or glass. The bezel and case are also in very clean condition, with only minor scratches. Overall, the condition is exceptionally clean. The strap is also still in usable condition.

The buckle is original 18k Audemars Piguet (with AP engraving), and the strap is also original. Daily rate is within +30 seconds when laid flat.
