This is Rolex’s ultimate status watch, the Day-Date WG Ref. 1803 with a Doorstep Dial.
The Day-Date, also known as the President watch, is one of Rolex’s luxury models, available exclusively in 18K gold or platinum.
This example is paired with the most popular President bracelet for the Day-Date.
The 36 mm face, Silver Dial, and understated White Gold make this a watch appreciated by true enthusiasts.
The dial is a rare and popular style known overseas as a “Doorstop Dial,” named for its three-dimensional 6 and 9 markers, which resemble doorstops.
Because it is extremely scarce and appears to be a dial found only on vintage watches, it is highly valuable.
In recent years, rising retail prices and soaring gold prices have caused the Day-Date’s value to increase year after year.
Four-digit models are still relatively affordable, but well-preserved White Gold examples are extremely scarce and highly sought after.
