One of the relatively newer models in Cartier's collection, the Ballon Bleu.
Although the Ballon Bleu is generally associated with women's watches, this 42mm solid-gold model has an immediately more masculine presence.
Its substantial construction and 220g weight give it a remarkably solid feel, with the unmistakable weight of gold.
It is a rare and distinctive piece.
Although the current Large model measures up to 40mm, this 42mm version has recently been Discontinued.
Its original price was approximately ¥4.2 million, so had it remained available, it might now cost around ¥5 million.
The 42mm is a rare model that seldom appears on the market. Moreover, with a full set of links and a Wrist Size of approximately 19cm, it should suit a wide range of wearers.
For the solid-gold Ballon Bleu, the 42mm has a more appealing presence than the current 40mm model.

Condition & Warranty
The case and bezel are in very good condition, with no significant scratches or dents. There are light scratches only on the lugs, which are difficult to notice unless examined closely and have been left as is. (They are at a level that could be removed by polishing.)
It has received Cartier's Complete Service and was Lightly Polished.
Since it was submitted to Cartier for Complete Service in nearly unworn condition, there should be very little reduction in case thickness from polishing.
The dial and crystal are both in exceptionally beautiful condition.
The bracelet is also virtually free of scratches.
