The Must Tank was the model released for the general public based on the historically popular Tank Louis, which remains popular today. This is a quartz Must Tank rather than a pre-Must Tank, and is a highly unusual Must Tank LM in Champagne, without the “Must de” designation. This is an exceptionally rare model that almost never appears on the market. (Cartier has confirmed that it is authentic. The unrepaired watch certificate identifies it as a Must Tank Champagne, leaving no doubt as to its identity.) Rather than the commonly seen Ivory Dial, this watch has a Champagne Dial with a subtly semi-gloss, metallic appearance. The dial material is also less prone to cracking, making this watch particularly suitable for Everyday Wear. Most notably, the absence of the Must Tank designation, the script Cartier signature, and the Champagne Dial give it a special character. The crown type also differs from that used on Must models with an Ivory Dial, which is another distinctive feature. It is a rare piece with far lower distribution than the pre-Must Tank, and another opportunity to acquire one may be difficult to find.
