This is a Cartier Ceinture XL Ref. 17001 from the 1970s, from the Louis Cartier collection.
The larger XL size, compared with the hand-wound LM, features an automatic movement. The LM measures approximately 28 mm, while the XL is slightly larger at approximately 31 mm.
Although it is called XL, it is not particularly large and is a masculine size that is easy to wear casually as a vintage watch.
Because it houses an automatic caliber, the case back has a raised shape, making this feature immediately apparent when viewed from the side.
This watch underwent a complete service at Cartier in March 2026.
The glass, crown, case screws, and dial were all repaired or replaced as needed, making this a watch on which more than ¥200,000 was spent in servicing.
Overall, the condition is very good.
The case has only light surface scratches, with no dents, and is very clean overall. Cartier performed a light polish, so the edges remain crisp and well defined.
The case back is also clean with only minor scratches, and the serial number remains clearly visible.
The dial is the white Swiss Made version and is clean overall, with no dirt, scratches, or discoloration.
Both the hands and the glass are in excellent condition.
Although this is a vintage watch, its complete restoration provides the reassurance that it can be worn and enjoyed regularly.
With the convenience of an automatic movement, its well-balanced size, and a Swiss Made dial that is less prone to cracking, this would be an excellent choice for everyday wear.
