The Must de Cartier Tank was the first Tank Louis, which remains historically popular today, to be released for the general market.
This rare early Must de Cartier Tank is known as a Pre-Must Tank, and this particular example is an even rarer European-market version produced in very limited numbers.
Its early bullet-shaped crown gives it an exceptionally appealing character.
The European version is constructed much like the Tank Louis. The main differences are that the case is vermeil rather than 18-karat gold, and the dial uses script lettering instead of block lettering.
As a result, it does not immediately appear to be a Louis, which contributes to its popularity, but it is an extremely rare piece.
With Tank Louis prices rising, this is highly recommended.

Condition and Warranty
This is a highly original example, retaining its original period plating on the case and featuring an exceptionally clean, crack-free dial. The crystal and other components are also original.
It is in remarkably good condition, and examples this well preserved rarely come to market.
Although it shows signs of use, the case has relatively few dents and scratches, and the original plating remains intact.
To preserve the period plating, it has not been extensively polished. There are minor scratches, but the overall condition is good. (There are scratches at the 3 and 6 o'clock positions that have been left as they are. They could be removed by polishing, but we do not recommend this as it would thin the plating; removal is possible upon request.)
The caseback also has minor scratches, but the plating remains intact and the Serial Number is still present. Overall, the condition is good.
The hands and crystal are both clean, and the watch is in remarkably good condition for a Pre-Must. Like the Louis, the hands are blue.
The dial is essentially crack-free, with no scratches or discoloration. There are a few small areas of dirt, but nothing conspicuous.
There are a few other minor areas of dirt, but the overall condition is very good.
It comes with an original GP Buckle.
