A rare Step Tank known only to those familiar with vintage Cartier.
This is Ref.5512117, a European-specification model with a rare Black Dial.
With a face measuring 27.5mm, it is a well-proportioned boys’ size.
The Step Tank was produced in small numbers around 1970, approximately between 1973 and 1976, in New York, Paris, and London.
There were slight design differences between regions, and this is the simplest version.
The Black Dial and non-“must de” plated configuration are particularly uncommon. This square model has well-balanced proportions and should be easy to wear.
The Buckle is an original Cartier gold-plated component from the period.

Condition and Warranty
Overall, the watch appears to be in very good condition.
The case has some fine scratches, while the caseback is also relatively clean, with only minor scratches.
The dial has light cracks and some discoloration overall. They are visible depending on the lighting, but should not be particularly noticeable when worn at normal viewing distance.
There are few other signs of dirt or scratches, and the overall condition is good.
The hands are also clean, with virtually no discoloration or scratches visible.
