We are pleased to introduce this vintage round Blancpain, from the world’s oldest watch brand.
Blancpain is a prestigious manufacture brand regarded as the world’s oldest producer of mechanical watches still in existence.
It suspended operations in the 1970s due to the Quartz crisis, later making a comeback and regaining its current standing. This watch dates from the period before that hiatus.
It features an exceptionally rare design, and Blancpain watches from this vintage period are themselves seldom seen on the market.
Based on the Serial Number, this model is believed to date from the late 1950s to the early 1960s.
Blancpain is known for the FIFTY FATHOMS and Villeret, but vintage examples are usually limited to the expensive FIFTY FATHOMS, while solid-gold dress watches are rarely seen.
The case has a distinctive shape: its enamel-lined contours feature a mirror finish on the interior and a hairline finish on the exterior, creating an elaborate design.
The outer edges are also cleanly beveled, giving this beautiful design a refined, delicate character.
It is also impressive that the watch houses an exceptionally thin movement.
The case has some fine scratches, but no major dents or deep scratches are visible.
The edges are especially important on this watch, and they appear exceptionally sharp, indicating a completely unpolished condition.
The hairline finish has some minor scratches, but it has been left untouched to preserve its original condition.
The dial and hands have a few minor scratches but remain in very beautiful condition.
Both the Strap and buckle are aftermarket.
