The Stepped Tank is a rare model known only to a select few among vintage Cartier watches.
This is a Ref. 5512117, a European model with a rare black dial.
The face size is 27.5 cm, making it a perfectly sized boy's watch.
The Stepped Tank was produced in small quantities in New York, Paris, and London around 1970 (approximately between 1973 and 1976).
There are subtle design differences depending on the region, and this model has the simplest construction.
The black dial with a plated type that does not include "must de" is quite rare, and this square-shaped model has a good size and is easy to wear.
The overall condition appears to be very good.
The case condition has only minor scratches and no dents. The case back also has only minor scratches and is relatively clean.
The dial has fine cracks overall, which are visible depending on the light (it's hard to see them unless you look closely).
