The Must Tank was released for the general public as a more accessible version of the historically and enduringly popular “Tank Louis.”
This is a rare early Must Tank, referred to as a Pre-Must Tank, and more specifically, a European-market Pre-Must Tank produced in even smaller numbers.
Its early-style cannonball crown gives it an exceptionally appealing character.
The European version is fundamentally very similar in construction to the Tank Louis. The major differences are that the case is vermeil rather than 18-karat gold, and the dial uses cursive lettering instead of block lettering.
As a result, it can be difficult to identify at a glance as a Louis, which contributes to its popularity, but it is an extremely rare piece.
With Louis models currently commanding higher prices, this is highly recommended.

Condition and Warranty
This piece is offered at an accessible price because the dial has cracks and slight discoloration.
Despite this, the case has few dents or scratches, and the plating remains substantial.
Because we wanted to preserve the original plating, it has received almost no polishing. There are therefore some scratches, but overall we believe it is in good condition.
The caseback also has minor scratches, but the plating remains substantial, and the overall condition is good.
The hands and crystal are both clean, and for a Pre-Must, it appears to be in remarkably good condition.
The dial shows fine cracks and discoloration across its surface.
Several fine cracks become visible under certain lighting, but they are not particularly noticeable without direct light. (Because they are difficult to see in photographs, we can also provide a video for confirmation. Please contact us if needed.)
The discoloration gives the dial a light ivory tone overall. It has an appealing character, is not as ivory as a typical Must dial, and has developed an attractive patina.
There are also some areas of dirt, but overall we believe the condition is good.
The original GP Buckle is fitted.
Serviced and overhauled.
