Rare MOVADO 18kYG Chronograph Manual Wind Ref. 9025

This time, we are pleased to introduce a Movado Baby Chrono in 18K yellow gold with a Manual-Winding movement. Movado is widely known for the famous El Primero, introduced in 1969 and jointly developed by Zenith and Movado. This circa-1940 example is a rare piece housing the pre-El Primero manual-winding Cal. M90 movement in a 30.5 mm yellow-gold case. Commonly known as the “Baby Chrono,” its 30.5 mm size was considered compact for a chronograph of this era, when manufacturers were competing to create increasingly smaller cases. An interesting feature of the M90 is that its chronograph operation reverses the usual stop and reset functions. It features beautiful snake hands, is in excellent condition, and has a finely finished movement. It is truly a connoisseur’s timepiece. The buckle is an aftermarket GP buckle. The strap is aftermarket.
