The model introduced here is an early production model of Ref. 78086, with a serial number in the 300s. The difference from later models is not only the absence of hidden lettering, but also slight differences in the font and the design of the dial's circle line. While these are minor differences, it is a very rare dial and individual piece. The men's size LM, hand-wound movement, original PARIS dial from that era, and its early production all contribute to its high value. The gold engraving on the side also remains. There is no Cartier engraving on the case back, but this is original for this particular model. There are no dents, but from a distance, it appears slightly warped, which is likely part of its specifications. The glass is also in clean condition with no noticeable scratches. The dial is clean with no cracks. Most PARIS dials have some cracks, but miraculously, this one has none at all. The dial has slight discoloration and very minor scratches, but it is considered to be in very clean condition. The hands are not blued but are originally black. Overall, this is a very good condition item. The buckle is a very rare early 18k buckle from the 1970s.
