Cartier's Must series was introduced in the 1970s. It is one of the most iconic masterpieces that made Cartier watches famous.
This Black Roman Dial Large is found only in the original Manual-Winding models released at the time. Unlike the Ivory Dial, which was also available with a quartz movement, it was produced in smaller numbers and has an especially appealing presence.
Unlike the standard Must models, it features a distinctive black enamel dial with silver Roman numerals. The combination of black and silver with a Manual-Winding Tank is unique to this model.
It is equipped with Cal. 78-1, also used in the prestigious Louis Cartier line and Tank models, making it a genuinely substantial watch despite being a Must.

There is a faint crack on the dial that cannot be seen in the photographs. Due to its age and the characteristics of the material, cracks are relatively common, but this one is in comparatively beautiful condition and is barely noticeable when worn.
