The Tank Américaine stands out for its elegance among the Tank series.

The Tank Américaine began as a watch inspired by the Tank Cintrée, with a wide variety of movements and sizes being produced.
For a dress watch, a two-hand, thin manual-winding model seems most suitable for the Américaine, but unfortunately, most current models and vintage models seen today are three-hand types with automatic movements.

This Ref. 1736 is an LM model with a manual-winding two-hand movement, released in the early 1990s before the CPCP.
It is equipped with a Piaget-based Cal. 9P2 movement, achieving a thin profile unlike the automatic models.

While the CPCP Tank Américaine was released a few years later, the basic design, including the case size and dial guilloché, is the same.
Differences from the CPCP include the "CARTIER PARIS" on the dial and the 430MC movement, but as the base model, its potential is very high.
Although it tends to be overshadowed by the recent surge in popularity and high valuations of CPCP models, I believe this model will undoubtedly gain recognition in the future.

The condition is good overall, with minor scratches but few significant dents or scratches. The rhodium plating also remains in good condition.
The dial and crystal are also clean and free of dirt.

Both the buckle and strap are genuine Cartier. The buckle is 18K white gold.
It was overhauled at our store in September 2023.
