RESTOCK NOTIFICATION

Cartier Ceinture XL Automatic

We will notify you by email when this watch, the same model, or a related model becomes available.

This is a 1970s Cartier Ceinture XL from the Louis Cartier collection.
The XL, which is larger than the Manual-Winding LM, is equipped with an Automatic movement. The LM measures 28 mm, while the slightly larger XL measures 31 mm.
Although it is called the XL, we feel it is an ideal size for men.

Because it houses an Automatic caliber, the caseback has a raised shape that is immediately recognizable when viewed from the side.
Cal. 170, Ref. 17001.

This watch features the rare PARIS dial produced at the time.

It comes with an early Cartier Deployant Buckle.
The Deployant Buckles of the period could not be adjusted, so each Strap had to be custom ordered.
A custom Strap can be ordered separately for approximately ¥30,000.

A custom-ordered Strap (approximately 16.5 cm) is fitted.

Through Cartier's complete service, the dial can be replaced for several tens of thousands of yen if desired, so those who are concerned about it may wish to have it replaced.

Condition and Warranty

There are cracks and dirt, but we have intentionally left them as they are to preserve its original period condition.

Considering its Era, the condition is good, and it has been finished with only a light polish. The crystal has no scratches.
The dial has what appears to be staining at the center and around 2 o'clock, along with light cracks throughout, but we feel these give it wonderful character.

The Strap is almost unused.

Serviced, including mainspring replacement; accuracy within ±30 seconds per day.

The case has no major dents, scratches, or dirt.

Everything except the dial is exceptionally clean, so replacing the dial would likely restore it to its original appearance. (However, we do not particularly recommend this, as it would change the marking to “SWISS.”)
