1960s Tank Louis LM, Hand-wound, Officially serviced in Switzerland, Good condition
This time, we were able to acquire a very rare 1960s Tank Louis LM, hand-wound.
Compared to the 1970s Tank Louis LM Ref. 78096, which we sell frequently, this is an earlier model from the late 1960s.
The atmosphere of the case is similar to the 78096, but the glass is a handmade crystal with less curvature, giving it a distinctive design.
The dial also has slightly larger and bolder indexes, creating a powerful impression. The hands are also a little thicker, giving it a different feel.
Overall, it is very close to the image of early Cartier, possessing both great beauty and strength.
The movement is a Bueche-Girod ETA2512. (Bueche-Girod is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer that Cartier commissioned to produce movements and cases for a period. This is a Cartier double-signed product. Items with the Bueche-Girod name are rare and highly valuable.)
Although the dial is marked "SWISS," we believe it was originally "SWISS" and not a replacement dial.
This watch has undergone Cartier's Swiss restoration service for authentication and maintenance. Primarily, only the movement has been serviced (overhauled).
Of course, no external parts have been used in the watch; it is a certified timepiece. The crystal and all other parts are original.
Considering future maintenance, the ETA movement provides peace of mind, making this a highly recommended rare Tank Louis for daily use.
The case condition is excellent overall, with few dents or scratches.
The case back also has very few scratches, and the engravings are not faded. It is exceptionally clean.
The crystal is also virtually free of scratches.
The dial and hands are in very good condition.
The dial is very clean with no discoloration or stains. There is only a slight minor scratch at the 5 o'clock position, but overall it is very clean.
Although it is a SWISS dial, we are confident that it was originally SWISS.
This level of quality is something that appears only once a year, so we strongly recommend it to anyone who is considering it.
Comes with a genuine Cartier 18k YG buckle.
