Rare Cartier Tank LouisXL Automatic AT 18kD Ref. 17002

This is a rare Automatic model from the Louis Cartier collection, also known as the Jumbo or XL. The Ref. 17002 introduced here is, true to the Jumbo name, larger than the LM model, which measures 24 mm. There are broadly two sizes of Automatic Jumbo models, and this is the largest at 28 mm. To accommodate the thick movement with its rotor, the caseback is raised, making the substantial case a particularly distinctive feature. Its proportions are quite similar to the current large Tank Louis Automatic model, which may serve as a useful reference. The 17002 is rarely seen on the market, and many collectors are likely searching for one. This watch has a Swiss-made dial that was replaced during a complete service. Because its construction makes cracking less likely after replacement, it is also recommended for Everyday Wear. The buckle is a period-correct Cartier original 18k Deployant Buckle. It is fitted with a custom Strap made by our shop. After purchase, repairs and maintenance can be performed by our shop.
