Cartier Pre-Must Tank Europe Hand-Wound Model Ref. 4 No Cracks

The "Tank Louis," which is historically and currently still popular, was released to the general public as the Must Tank. Rare early Must Tanks are called Pre-Must Tanks, and this is an even rarer European market Pre-Must Tank, produced in smaller quantities. With its early cannonball crown, it has an exceptionally good atmosphere. The European specification has essentially the same basic construction as the Tank Louis, with the main differences being that the case is vermeil instead of 18k gold, and the dial's lettering is in cursive rather than block letters. For this reason, it is popular as it does not immediately appear to be a Louis, but it is quite a rare item. With the Louis skyrocketing in price, this is a highly recommended piece. This particular item boasts high originality from its era, with the case retaining its original plating and the dial being remarkably clean with no cracks. Of course, the glass and other components are also original. It is in quite good condition, and it is rare to find such a clean example. Regarding its condition, there are signs of use, but the case has few dents or scratches, and the plating is original and well-preserved. To preserve the original plating, it has not been polished much. There are minor scratches, but I believe the condition is good. (There are scratches at the 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions, which have been left as is. They can be removed by polishing, but this is not recommended as it thins the plating; however, it is possible to remove them.) The case back also has minor scratches, but the plating remains well, and the serial number is intact. The overall condition is good. Both the hands and glass are clean, and for a Pre-Must, it appears to be in quite clean condition. The hands are blue, just like the Louis. The dial is basically free of cracks, scratches, or discoloration. Some minor dirt and so on can be seen in places, but not at a noticeable level. Aside from some other dirt, the overall condition is considered quite good.
