The Must de Cartier Tank, created for a wider audience based on the historically popular Tank Louis, is still highly sought after today.
Rare early Must Tanks are called Pre-Must Tanks, and this is an even rarer European-market Pre-Must Tank, produced in very limited numbers.
Its early bullet-shaped crown gives it an exceptional vintage character.
The European version is essentially constructed almost identically to the Tank Louis. The main differences are that the case is vermeil rather than 18-karat gold, and the dial uses script lettering instead of block lettering.
As a result, it is not immediately recognizable as a Louis, which makes it popular, but it is an extremely rare piece.
With Louis models currently commanding higher prices, this is a particularly recommended example.

Condition and Warranty
This is a highly original example, retaining its original plating from the period on the case and a crack-free dial.
It is in remarkably good condition, and examples this clean are rarely seen.
There are signs of use, but the case has relatively few dents and scratches, and the original plating remains firmly intact.
It has not been polished extensively, as we wanted to preserve the original plating. There are minor scratches, but overall it is in good condition.
The caseback also has minor scratches, but the plating remains well preserved, as does the Serial Number. Overall condition is good.
Both the hands and crystal are clean, and the watch is in exceptionally good condition for a Pre-Must. The hands are blue, as on the Louis.
The dial is essentially crack-free, with no scratches or discoloration. Some minor dirt is visible in places, but nothing conspicuous.
There are a few other areas of dirt, but overall the condition is considered good.
