The Tank collection is indispensable when discussing Cartier.
This is a Manual-Winding Tank Obus model reissued in the 1990s, predating the release of the CPCP Tank Obus.
Like the CPCP model, it features an Exhibition Caseback through which the beautiful 430MC movement can be viewed, along with a beautifully Guilloché Dial.
It is thought to be nearly identical to the CPCP, with the main difference being whether or not “Cartier Paris” is printed on the dial.
This is an exceptionally rare piece.
It is fitted with an original Cartier 18k Buckle.
The Strap is aftermarket and new.

Condition and Warranty
The case has light scratches and some minor impact marks, but no significant dents.
There are also minor scratches on the sides and bezel, but it has been kept almost entirely unpolished to preserve its original condition, leaving the minor scratches as they are.
The dial is exceptionally clean, with almost no dirt and no cracks.
The crystal was replaced at an authorized Cartier boutique in September 2024. It is exceptionally clean.
The caseback has some light scratches but is clean. The Serial Number remains clearly visible.
