Among the Santos-Dumont series, the masterpiece slim model "Extra-Flat" is equipped with the Frédéric Piguet Cal.21, making it a popular model among enthusiasts. The "Swiss Made" dial with guilloché is rare. This particular model has been serviced in Cartier's home country, comes with a warranty, and is in excellent condition.
The CPCP Santos Extra-Flat model from the 2000s was based on this model, and its size and construction are almost identical. The movement has also been replaced with a new Cal.21 through a complete service, and the guilloché pattern on the dial is the same as that of the CPCP model. The only differences seem to be the "Cartier Paris" notation and that this model has a slightly more ivory-toned, vintage-looking dial. While both are a matter of preference, this model might be more appealing to those who prefer a vintage-looking dial.
The Cartier complete service was completed in June 2024, and it is an item in excellent condition. The case has undergone almost no polishing. There are minor scratches on the case and bezel, but they have been left as is. The edges are sharp. The original case condition has been maintained and is in a beautiful state. There are some light dents on the case back, but they have been left as is to maintain originality. The dial has been replaced during the Cartier home country repair. The original guilloché Swiss dial has become a guilloché "Swiss Made" dial. The specifications are almost the same as they were then. The hands and crown have also been replaced with new ones, making this an item in excellent condition. The movement is also a new Cal.21, making it highly reliable.
The buckle is genuine Cartier GP. If you wish for an 18k YG D-buckle or an 18k YG buckle from that period, please contact us separately.
