IWC OCEAN 2000 Ref. 3500 Early Model

We will notify you by email when this watch, the same model, or a related model becomes available.

A rare IWC OCEAN 2000 Ref. 3500 Porsche Design titanium model. The Ocean 2000 is famous as a diving watch adopted by the West German Navy. Designed by Porsche and manufactured by IWC, it is a landmark model offering an impressive 2,000-meter water-resistance rating and a highly distinctive design, along with a titanium case—specifications that remain relevant even today. This Ref. 3500 is particularly rare because very few examples remain in good condition with their original period bracelets. The Ocean 2000 was produced in several versions from the early to later models, differing mainly in their dial markings and bracelet designs. This is the earliest model, the first-generation version with the easiest bracelet replacement. (This example has a single-lock clasp; mid-period models use a double-lock clasp, while later models use a pin system.) Many examples had their bracelets replaced with newer designs during manufacturer overhauls, making this version highly collectible and quite rare. In particular, very few Early Model examples remain. This is an especially rare early example without the PD, “Porsche Design,” or IWC markings on the dial. With a Case Diameter of 42 mm, it has an excellent presence, while the titanium case and titanium bracelet make it exceptionally lightweight and comfortable to wear. The bezel features an anti-counterclockwise rotation mechanism, and the tritium lume offers excellent practicality. (As this is the original period dial, it emits little to no light.)

## Condition and Warranty There are no particularly noticeable scratches or scuffs on the dial, hands, or crystal. The bezel, case, and bracelet have only minor scratches and are in beautiful condition considering they remain unpolished. (They have not been polished because they are titanium.) The bracelet fits wrists up to approximately 17.5 cm and should be suitable for a wide range of wearers. All components are original to the period, and the watch appears to be in good overall condition.
