The Tank Louis Cartier, a classic in the Tank series.
This is an LM type model made around the 1970s, featuring the ultra-thin Frédéric Piguet Cal.96 movement.
This is a very rare early production ref. 96019.
Most models with this reference number use screws on the sides and back, but early models seem to have been made without any screws at all, which is quite rare. (This seems to be seen in the first few hundred units.)
Furthermore, it's a rare piece with the original PARIS dial from that era, and no cracks.
With its original PARIS dial, ultra-thin manual winding movement, and solid gold case, this model can be considered the pinnacle of Tank Louis design.
While the Tank Louis Extra Flat itself is rare, a PARIS dial without cracks and from an early production lot is extremely rare.
Since the case is not secured with screws, it is precisely crafted with no unnecessary gaps, making it extremely minimalist. This is a product that showcases the craftsmanship of that era, which is unthinkable today.
The gold color of the hands is likely their original color, not discoloration.
The overall condition of the case is good, with few major dents or scratches.
There is no thinning or rounding of the shape. The original condition was good, so it has been finished with a light polish.
The Cartier engraving on the back cover is slightly faded, but the serial number remains clear, and the overall condition is good.
The original PARIS dial from that era is in excellent condition with no cracks.
It has a slight ivory tint due to aging, but it is not a strong discoloration and remains in good condition.
There are no scratches on the glass.
There is no rust on the hands or other parts. (Since they are a beautiful gold color, it is believed they were originally gold, not discolored.)
Overall, it is considered to be in very good condition.
The buckle is genuine Cartier, made of 18k YG.
