This time, we are introducing the BOVET HANNYA, a high-end manufacture brand. This model retailed for approximately 5 million yen at the time. This is a rare collaboration between Switzerland and Japan, a unique piece where craftsmen apply the Hannya (demon mask) pattern using Kaga Maki-e, a traditional Ishikawa Prefecture technique. This is an ultra-rare model that BOVET sold in very limited quantities exclusively at a certain boutique in Japan in the late 2000s. While not widely known in Japan, BOVET is a world-renowned ultra-luxury brand. It is a brand known for its manufacture, limiting annual production to 800 pieces, with one-third being custom orders. Its standard lines range from approximately 3 million yen to 60 million yen. Custom orders have no price ceiling. This is the BOVET Fleurier HANNYA, produced by BOVET between approximately 2006 and 2010. The dial features a Hannya depicted using the traditional technique of Kaga Maki-e. It may be difficult to see in photos, but upon close inspection with the naked eye, the colors are finely reproduced down to the smallest detail, creating a three-dimensional and beautiful effect. While the Hannya's appearance can be a bit intimidating, it also carries the Buddhist meaning of "wisdom to grasp the truth" and the enlightenment mentioned in the Hannya Shingyo (Heart Sutra), conveying a profound intellect in its owner. The movement is a manufacture caliber, developed and produced in-house by Bovet. It is a core collection featuring various characteristics such as a case reminiscent of a pocket watch and a dial finished with guilloché decoration and vibrant lacquer. There are only minor fine scratches on the case, but no major dents or deep scratches are visible. It is in very good condition. The glass has light minor scratches on both the front and back. Overall, I believe it is in very clean condition. The dial and hands are in clean condition. (Please note that since the dial is handmade by craftsmen from the time of production, there may be some slight variations in painting from when it was new.) The band is genuine BOVET.
