The Rolex Cellini, named after the Renaissance sculptor Benvenuto Cellini. While Rolex is often associated with Oyster and sports models, dress watches have been gaining renewed appreciation and higher valuations recently.
This particular model is a Ref. 4014 from around 1970, featuring a yellow gold rectangular case and a mirrored red dial. The dial's expression changes with the light and angle, offering a unique and beautiful hue not found today, creating a luxurious and atmospheric piece. There is some slight dullness, but it adds to the watch's character and charm. Its size is similar to a vintage Tank Louis LM, so it should appeal to Tank enthusiasts as well.
The movement is a reliable Cal. 1600.
The leather band is the one that came with the watch when it was acquired. While it shows some signs of use, it should be fine for a while. We can also custom-order a new one for you if needed. The buckle is a genuine GP Rolex buckle. The case has minor scratches but no major scratches or dents. The case back has minor scratches, and the serial number has faded, so it has been left as is (the serial number is partially faint). The dial has some slight discoloration in a few spots, but it is not very noticeable. For a 50-year-old watch, it is in remarkably good condition. The crystal has no noticeable scratches.
