The Santos is an indispensable part of any discussion about Cartier. As the world's first men's wristwatch developed by Cartier, this historical model enjoys enduring popularity.

This is the Ref. 78097 Santos-Dumont LM, released as part of the "Louis Cartier Collection" in the 1970s.
The Louis Cartier Collection had a small production run, making surviving examples quite rare.

While the "extra-flat" thin model is popular among Santos-Dumont watches, this thicker Santos-Dumont LM offers a different charm with its three-dimensional construction, making it a popular item among collectors.
Its limited existing numbers make it a highly valuable item even overseas.

The condition is excellent, with a complete service completed in September 2023.
The complete service included replacing the dial, crown, and hands, totaling approximately 170,000 yen for the manufacturer's repair.

The case has some scratches but no major dents. It shows no signs of polishing that would round off its edges, and the distinctive sharp edges of the Santos are still intact. The gold engraving on the side is also clear, suggesting minimal polishing was done in its lifetime.
The glass has almost no scratches. The case back has some scratches but no dents. The serial number is clearly visible.

It comes with a rare early-model 18K buckle.
This piece exudes the distinctive strength of the Santos, different from the extra-flat models.

  • Natural mechanical failures occurring within the warranty period will be inspected and repaired in accordance with Ante’s warranty terms.

Complimentary bracelet sizing is available to ensure your watch fits comfortably from the moment it arrives.

Simply include your wrist measurement in the order notes when placing your order. Each bracelet is carefully adjusted after confirming its condition and construction.

If you prefer a leather strap, we are happy to recommend a suitable option based on the age of the watch, buckle style and lug width.
