Early Must de Cartier Tanks are rare, and this particular pre-Must de Cartier Tank was produced in even smaller quantities for the European market.
With its early "boule" crown, it exudes an exceptional vintage charm.
The European specification is fundamentally almost identical in construction to the Tank Louis, with the main differences being that the case is vermeil rather than 18k gold, and the dial's inscription is in cursive rather than block letters.
Consequently, it has a design that, at first glance, isn't recognizable as a Louis, making it popular yet extremely rare.
With the Tank Louis currently soaring in price, this is a highly recommended item.
This particular piece boasts exceptionally high originality from that era, with its case retaining its original plating and a crack-free dial.
It is in remarkably good condition, and finding such a pristine example is quite rare.
Regarding its condition, there are signs of use, but the case has few dents or scratches, and the original plating remains well-preserved.
To retain the original plating, it has not been extensively polished. There are minor scratches, but the condition is considered good.
The case back also has minor scratches, but the plating is well-preserved, and the serial number is intact. The overall condition is good.
Both the hands and crystal are clean, and for a pre-Must de Cartier, it is considered to be in very clean condition. The hands are blue, just like the Louis.
The dial is essentially crack-free, with no scratches or discoloration. Some minor dirt or smudges are visible in places, but not at a noticeable level.
Other minor stains are present in some areas, but overall, the condition is considered good.
The buckle is the original GP from that era.
