Vintage Cartier Tank Louis LM 1960s 18K Yellow Gold Manual
This is a very rare late-1960s Cartier Tank Louis Large Manual-Winding model.
It belongs to the generation just before the 1970s Tank Louis Large Ref.78096, which we frequently carry. While the case has a similar character, the understated rounding of the crystal, large and powerful indexes, and slightly thicker hands give this watch the distinctive design language of early Cartier.
The movement is a Manual-Winding ETA2512 bearing the Bueche-Girod signature.
The dial is marked SWISS, and we believe it was most likely produced in this configuration from the outset rather than being a replacement dial. For authentication and maintenance, it has undergone Cartier's restoration service in Switzerland
.The primary work was an overhaul of the movement, and a Cartier repair certificate dated July 2026 is included. This is a highly rare example combining the early design unique to the late 1960s, a Bueche-Girod-signed ETA2512, and a well-preserved case and dial.
The ETA-based Manual-Winding movement also makes future maintenance easier to plan, making this a vintage Tank Louis selected for everyday enjoyment. The Tank Louis Cartier is one of Cartier's signature dress watches, characterized by its refined rectangular case and Roman numeral indexes.
This example predates the 1970s Ref.78096 and displays a period-specific character in the balance of its crystal, indexes, and hands.
