The Calatrava is the pinnacle of dress watches and an iconic model for the brand—a rare timepiece that continues to reign as a classic and an object of admiration.
This Ref. 3569 is a particularly unusual Calatrava model.
It features a rare self-winding Cal. 350 movement with a peripheral rotor housed in a 35 mm case, with the crown positioned on the back to create a symmetrical design.
The case features beautiful engraving, while the dial has an exceptionally attractive blue sunburst finish.
Because the crown is positioned on the back, the watch can be worn comfortably on either the left or right wrist.
Although this is a fairly obscure model, the Cal. 350 movement, case construction, dial finishing, and movement are all of exceptionally high quality, as one would expect.
The dial’s fading is a regrettable point, but the overall condition is quite good, making this a truly outstanding timepiece.
The case has a few light scratches, but is in remarkably good and very clean condition.
The edges are also very sharp, and the case appears to have received little, if any, polishing. It had an exceptionally fine finish when acquired, and has been left unpolished.
The hands and crystal are both in clean condition, with almost no dirt or scratches. Fading and discoloration are visible on the dial around the 11, 5, and 6 o’clock positions. Apart from this, it is in very clean condition.
The case back has a few very light scratches, but it has been left as is in order to preserve its original condition.
The watch is fitted with an 18k buckle made by AW.
