Beauty transcends time: Why I'm drawn to Frank Lloyd Wright
I've always loved looking at architecture.
Among architects, Frank Lloyd Wright particularly fascinates me.
I once visited the central entrance of the Old Imperial Hotel, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, at Meiji-mura.
Despite being built almost 100 years ago, it surprisingly didn't feel old.
Of course, there were parts that showed their age.
However, beyond that, there was a beauty that felt "new even when viewed today," and I still remember how deeply moved I was.
It's not a design that chased trends, but one that pursued essence, which is why it remains timeless and unfading.
I believe that this feeling is very similar to vintage Cartier's Santos and Tank models.
The Santos was born in 1904, and the Tank in 1917.
Even after more than 100 years, their designs continue to captivate many people.
This isn't because they kept creating new things.
I think it's because they carefully nurtured and preserved perfected designs.
Cartier is perhaps less a brand that makes watches, and more a brand that has created designs loved across generations.
And to love such things is not simply to own an old watch.
It is also to inherit the history, the craftsmanship, and the philosophy embedded in the design, and to pass them on to the next era.
I feel a very deep spirituality in that.
Whether it's architecture or watches, truly good things don't diminish in value over time; their appeal increases with time.
That's why vintage Cartier still looks fresh and beautiful today.
And I believe that beauty will remain unchanged in the future.
What Ante wants to introduce is not just the watches as products.
It's the history, philosophy, and the worldview contained in each piece, which will continue to move people's hearts for decades to come.
That's why we will continue to introduce vintage Cartier, loved across generations, rather than following trends.
It's not about selling watches, but about passing on the beauty that has been cherished across generations to the next generation.
We believe this is also one of the missions that Ante values.
I learned something from seeing Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture.
Truly good design lets time cultivate its value.
That's also why we introduce vintage Cartier.
